Kinetic installations for architects, museums and attractions
Ceilings, walls and sculptures that move: LED elements and mirrors on DMX winches, rotating panels and rings, the Flip Brick kinetic LED screen. Designed, engineered, built, programmed and serviced by one team from our Downtown Los Angeles workshop, for spaces that stay open every day.
A kinetic installation is engineering first: the structure, the duty cycle and the service plan, then the motion.
The systems
What a kinetic installation is built from
Every system is designed and built by NovaTech and kept in Los Angeles.

Kinetic Winches & Motion
High-speed kinetic winches for dynamic stage motion, light, and scenic effects.

DMX Rotator System
Continuous 360° rotation for lighting, scenery and screens, with power and signal passing through the spin.

Flip Brick Kinetic Screen
A wall of bricks that flip individually — patterns, animations and video in physical motion.

Kinetic Elements & Installations
LED spheres, light tubes, mirror boards and chandeliers, flown on our own winches.

Mirror Boards
Bold new lighting solution — kinetic mirrors with laser installation, programmable DMX.

For an event instead
Temporary kinetic lighting
For a one-night show the same systems come as a rental with our crew: kinetic lighting, or a custom kinetic lighting installation designed for the event.
Kinetic installations — questions & answers
What is a kinetic installation?
A piece that moves: LED elements, mirrors, chandeliers or screens flown on DMX winches, panels that rotate, rings that spin. NovaTech designs, engineers, builds and programs them in our Downtown Los Angeles workshop.
Do you build permanent installations?
Yes. Permanent and semi-permanent pieces for lobbies, atriums, museums, attractions and hospitality spaces, engineered for daily duty cycles and serviced by the team that built them.
Can the installation react to people?
Yes. Motion, light and content can be triggered from sensors, a show-control system or a schedule.
What do you need from the architect or designer?
Drawings of the space, the structure we can attach to, power, and the intent. We return a concept, 3D renders, a motion plan and the engineering before anything is built.
Who maintains it?
We do. A service schedule comes with every permanent installation; the systems are ours and the parts are in the workshop.
Can we see the systems running before we commit?
Yes. Book a private walkthrough at our Downtown Los Angeles workshop: the winches, the rotators and the Flip Brick wall in motion.

Planning a kinetic installation?
Date, venue and a line about the show — we reply within one business day with how we would build it, and the team that would run it.
