What Is Kinetic Lighting?

Kinetic lighting physically moves — chandeliers that rise and fall, ceilings that ripple over a room, spheres and mirrors choreographed to music or timecode. It turns a static ceiling into a living installation that reacts to the moment.

What We Build

  • kinetic lighting — kinetic chandeliers, spheres and mirrors as moving light sculptures.
  • Kinetic winch systems — the engineered rigging that lifts and moves each element safely.
  • Kinetic ceilings — grids of elements that animate across a whole room.

Rental or Permanent Installation

We supply kinetic lighting for one-night events across Los Angeles, and design and install permanent pieces for venues, retail and architecture. One insured team handles concept, engineering, rigging, programming and on-site operation.

FAQ

Kinetic Lighting — Questions & Answers

What is kinetic lighting?

Lighting that physically moves — winch-driven chandeliers, kinetic ceilings, spheres and mirrors choreographed to music or timecode, turning a ceiling into a living installation.

How does a kinetic ceiling work?

A grid of winches raises, lowers and tilts individual elements on cue. Each motor is programmed to a show file so the whole ceiling moves as one animated surface.

How much weight can a kinetic winch lift?

It depends on the winch and rigging spec. Our systems are engineered per piece with safety factors, and we confirm exact load limits for your venue up front.

Is it safe over guests?

Yes. Every system is engineered with redundancy and safety factors, rigged to venue code and run by our own technicians — safe to perform above a live crowd all night.

What rigging does a venue need?

We spec the exact rigging points, truss and power for your venue in advance and coordinate with your venue or rigging crew, so there are no surprises on the day.

What lead time for a custom piece?

Four to eight weeks is ideal for a custom build, though we regularly handle faster timelines. The sooner you reach out, the more we can tailor.

Can you install permanently?

Yes — alongside event rentals, we design and install permanent kinetic lighting for venues, retail and architectural spaces.

How is the motion programmed?

Every element is pixel-mapped and cued through DMX, Art-Net and MADRIX, synced to music or timecode so the motion lands exactly with the show.
