Kinetic Retail Experience

One of our favorite recent projects was a custom kinetic display system created for a fashion boutique on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The goal was simple: transform traditional retail merchandising into a memorable visual experience that would stop customers in their tracks. Instead of static displays, the boutique features a fully integrated kinetic installation where apparel, lighting, and motion work together as a single artistic composition.

The installation combines 55 lb capacity kinetic winches used to move clothing displays with smaller 3 lb kinetic winches that animate illuminated spheres throughout the store. Carefully programmed movement sequences create a continuous choreography of motion and light, turning the retail environment into a living installation. As products rise, descend, and reposition throughout the day, customers experience the space differently with every visit.
