Light and Darkness

Created for the opening ceremony of a major televised music show, Light and Darkness was an ambitious production developed by NovaTech and NovaTech Creative that combined storytelling, choreography, robotics, kinetic technology, and large-scale lighting design into a single immersive performance.

At the center of the production stood a massive KUKA industrial robot carrying a custom-designed illuminated octahedron known as Space Oct. Surrounding the stage, kinetic winches suspended reflective mirror elements that continuously shifted through space, capturing and redirecting powerful beams of light throughout the venue. Together with an extensive lighting system and a cast of dancers, these technologies transformed the stage into a futuristic battlefield between opposing forces.

The performance told the timeless story of the struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, chaos and hope. Through synchronized choreography, robotic movement, dynamic reflections, and dramatic lighting effects, the audience was drawn into a cinematic world where technology became part of the narrative itself. As the story unfolded, light ultimately triumphed, creating a powerful and emotional finale that resonated with both the live audience and television viewers.
